Administrative Services Director

City of Gainesville

Janeann Allison joined the City of Gainesville in 2014 as Human Resources Director and was appointed Administrative Services Director in 2016. Prior to her service in Gainesville, she served as the Habersham County Manager—a role especially meaningful to her as a native of Habersham County. Before transitioning into public service, Janeann spent several years in the private sector, working primarily as a Legal Assistant alongside her father.

With over seven years of volunteer leadership experience in SHRM Georgia and the Foothills of Georgia SHRM chapter, Janeann currently serves as Vice President of Operations for SHRM Georgia. This role enables her to connect with a broad network of human resources professionals and contribute to advancing the field across the state.

Janeann is married and the proud mother of six children, ranging in age from 17 to 37. She and her husband spent more than 13 years serving in Children’s Ministry and are now joyfully awaiting the arrival of their fifth grandchild.

She strives to live each day by one of her favorite quotes from John Maxwell: “By choosing to embrace and practice good values every day, you may not always get what you desire, but you will always be the person you desire to be.”
