Director of Civil EngineeringPond & CompanyKyle C. West, P.E., is a seasoned civil engineer and environmental program leader with over 40 years of experience across federal, municipal, and private-sector organizations. He serves as Director of Civil Engineering Operations at Pond & Company, providing strategic leadership to more than 65 engineers and designers supporting aviation, energy, federal, site development, and water resources programs. He has managed over $400 million in engineering, environmental, infrastructure, and security projects.
Kyle’s expertise spans capital improvement planning, land development, environmental compliance, infrastructure design, and organizational leadership. His career includes building and operating a diversified California-based civil engineering and environmental consulting firm and holding senior engineering and management roles for the City of Reno. There, he oversaw municipal facilities, safety and training programs, emergency preparedness, and land development for a rapidly growing metropolitan region. He also advised the Nevada Earthquake Safety Council, appointed by the State Chief of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Kyle began his career as a Civil Engineering Officer (Captain) in the U.S. Air Force, supporting 25 installations in the U.S., Italy, and Guam. He led long-range planning, major budget programs, and engineering teams of up to 300 personnel. He represented HQ Strategic Air Command during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, presenting critical airfield data to senior defense leaders, and flew command and control missions on a SAC Airborne Command Post supporting communications with Air Force One.
He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and an M.S. in Engineering Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. A registered Professional Engineer in nine states, Kyle brings proven strengths in program execution, technical excellence, mentoring, and collaborative problem-solving.
